Stone Divergences | Milano Design Week 2022

In biology, Divergence is the differentiating action caused by the different environmental conditions in which parts of an original group find themselves.

For this year’s Milan Design Week we wanted to experiment with stone divergences by subjecting the material to the influence of three different settings, represented by three designers and three different environments.

The paths followed are the kitchen with Kensaku Oshiro, the bathroom with Pitsou Kedem, and the living room with Daniele Lotti.
The experience and the approach of each individual designer did the rest.

Pitsou Kedem, an Israeli architect who specializes in surprisingly contemporary residential projects, and his studio have reinterpreted nature by recreating a cascade of Arabescato marble in Waterfall.

Daniele Lotti, an architect from Livorno and an all-round designer who works in various fields, has offered a contemporary reinterpretation of the art deco style using basic materials, giving metal and wood a leading role together with stone. An excellent example and the first creation of the Serie 900 is the iconic round dining table.

Kensaku Oshiro, a Japanese designer based in Milan whose strength lies in innovation and respect for skilled craftsmanship, continues his work of reinterpreting the traditions linked to the world of travertine, giving shape to the new Flow kitchen, which will be unveiled for the first time ever during the Design Week.

From June 7th to the 12th, at the Listone Giordano Arena on Via Santa Cecilia 6, in Milan city center, it will be possible to see and touch these divergent elements and to observe some of the ways in which the working and shaping of stone can evolve.
