Stone meets wood and iron in a series that evokes Art Deco and the craftsmanship of historic 20th-century design
We inaugurate 2022 with Serie 900, the new collection created by architect and designer Daniele Lotti, which once again combines stone with wood and iron to create furnishing accessories unique both in design and in the quality of the materials.
Serie 900 is a collection of furnishings that was created to evoke and combine Art Deco aesthetics with the craftsmanship of typical 20th-century design.
Far from contemporary industrial minimalism, the pieces in the collection are based on a strong sense of material and come into being as aggregates of the fundamental materials of wood, iron and stone, each taken to the limit of its own structural possibilities.
Each piece in the collection therefore springs from the balanced aggregation of several elements: the structure, consisting of slender wooden uprights joined by metal connectors, appears exaggerated, light and elongated, and can be modulated according to the needs of the ordinate in space; the tops, made from dressed stone with a reduced thickness, are massive, solid and imposing; lastly, the wooden containers with delicate surfaces in “grissinato” wood.
Serie 900 was also created to overturn the concept of visual stability, understood as perception and sensitivity. This was made possible through research on the materials and technologies that have always been characteristic of Vaselli, which once again distinguishes itself as an innovative company in the crafting and production of furnishings in which stone plays the lead role.
The first piece of furniture that we present to the public is the Serie 900 Table, which unveils a preview of the new collection that draws ever nearer to the living room world with the interpretation of iconic pieces, more purely decorative and not necessarily linked to the development of a specific design, but that easily fits into preexisting settings.
The large table that anticipates the rest of Serie 900 is made with a large, lightened stone top with a diameter of 160 cm. This is supported by turned solid wood legs that are skillfully joined by a metal ring with welded connection elements.
In this collection Lotti again proposes the trio of natural elements, stone, wood and metal, creating a piece that is both representative and versatile, leaving room for various interpretations in terms of shape, size and materials.
The Serie 900 dining table is the first piece in the collection that will take shape and be unveiled during this year that has just begun.
